The host picks how many rounds to play (3 by default), a difficulty for the word pool (Mixed, Easy, Medium, or Hard), and how long each turn's draw time is (80 seconds by default). That creates a room code the rest of the group types into Pictionary's join screen — you need at least 2 players for the host to be able to start.
Everyone plays from their own screen, so there's no need to be in the same room physically — the drawing canvas and guess chat sync live for everyone the instant a stroke or message is sent.
One player is picked to draw and gets offered 3 words to choose from — if they don't pick within about 15 seconds, the game auto-selects the first option so the round doesn't stall. Once they've chosen, everyone else sees a row of blanks and starts guessing in the chat as the drawing appears in real time.
If nobody's guessed it by the halfway point of the draw timer, one letter reveals; by 75% of the time, a second one reveals. The turn ends the moment everyone's guessed correctly, when the drawer or host ends it early, or when time runs out — either way, the word is revealed to everyone before the next turn starts.
Guessing correctly pays off more the faster you do it: your score for that turn is calculated as roughly 100 points scaled down by how much of the draw timer had already passed, with a floor of 20 points — so guessing in the first few seconds is worth close to full points, and guessing right before time runs out is still worth the 20-point minimum.
The drawer isn't left out — they earn a flat 10 points every single time any player lands a correct guess. A drawing that gets guessed by five different players nets the drawer 50 points from that one turn alone, on top of whatever they score later as a guesser themselves.
Drawing rotates through the whole group — everyone draws once per round, so a 3-round game with 4 players means 12 total turns. After the last turn, the player with the highest combined score across every turn (as both drawer and guesser) wins.
